Type

AceMoney defines three different types of transactions: Withdrawal, Deposit and Transfer.

Withdrawal

Withdrawal transaction, also known as purchase, is probably the most common type of financial transaction. An item or good is exchanged for money. This transaction results in a decrease of account balance. Any credit or debit card purchase is a withdrawal transaction. Any payment coming out of account in a form of check or wire transfer is also a withdrawal.

Deposit

Deposit transaction is an opposite to withdrawal: the transaction results in an increase of account balance. Any income that you receive from the employers, financial institutions, investments or relatives is recorded in AceMoney in a form of deposit transactions.

Transfer

Transfer transaction is needed when you need to move funds from one accounts to another. Transfers don't change total amount of money, but decrease balance on the source account and increase balance on the target account. A good example of transfer transaction would be credit card payment when both checking and credit card accounts are present in AceMoney and the payment is recorded as a transfer from checking to credit card account.

Transfer transactions can have valid category but can't have payee.
